Obituary of Carolyn Perry Walters

Carolyn Perry Walters was born on November 29, 1925, in Auburndale, FL. to parents Ada and Niles Perry. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Virgil L. (Pete) Walters. She is survived by daughters, Mary (Les) Brooks, Dian Shumate, Gena Boozer, Kathy Shipe, and Evelyn (Clyde) Powe. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 sister Murlene (Billy) Smith, and several nieces and nephews. She retired from Dundee Citrus in 2007. She is of the Baptist Faith and attended the First Missionary Baptist Church in Auburndale. She was a member of Tropical Chapter #38, Order of the Eastern Star in Bartow. She enjoyed her Spring garden every year as well as taking care of her plants and flowers. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends, but knows she will be in Heaven now with her beloved husband and the son she never knew on earth. Rest in Peace, Mama, Mema, sister, Aunt, and friend. We love you very much and know we will be walking those streets of gold with you one day. Visitation will be Thursday from 1 to 2 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Services will follow at 2:00 PM from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
