Obituary of James L. Brown

HAINES CITY, FLORIDA - James L. Brown of Haines City, passed away on November 7, 2013, in Otwell, Indiana. He was 88. He was born on April 4, 1925, in Vincennes, Indiana, to Roy E. Brown and Alvina C Tiemer Brown. James moved to Haines City in 1965 from Vero Beach. He was a Truck Broker, and owner of Brown Produce. James also served in the South Pacific during World War II in the US Marines. He was a Mason in the Haines City Masonic Lodge, and he also was a member of the Scottish Rite. James was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Wilma Brown. He is survived by his son Michael L. Brown of Lakeland, Florida; his daughters: Judith and husband Mike McLain of Otwell, Indiana, Debra K. and husband, Stan Walk of Indiana; Step-son Bob Mimos of Labelle, Florida; step-daughter Rosemary and husband, Jimmy Dean of St. Augustine, Florida. James also had 1 granddaughter, 1 great granddaughter, 1 step-granddaughter, 1 step-grandson, 1 step-great grand daughter, and 1 step great grandson. A gathering of friends will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City, with Pastor Charles Harkala officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, Florida 33823.
