Obituary of George E. Meyer

AUBURNDALE - George E. Meyer, 88, of Winter Haven died Monday, December 9, 2013 at Good Shepherd Hospice Forsythe House in Auburndale. He was born October 20, 1925 to Ernest and Jane (Pickett) Meyer. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in WWII and was a Life Member of the VFW Post 8874 in New Mexico. He served as Quarter Master for District 6 in 1977-1978. He was also a member of the American Legion of Winter Haven. He was predeceased by his wife Ilse; brothers Ernest H. Meyer, Jr. and James H. Meyer; and sister Beverly J. Witkowski. Mr. Meyer is survived by his three children Janet, Peter and Richard; brother John (Bill) Meyer of Troy, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
