Obituary of Doris J. Barber

Doris J. Barber of Winter Haven passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Winter Haven Hospital from respiratory failure. She was 85. A native of Spruce Pine, Alabama, born November 16, 1928 to Luther and Katie Lawler Pounders, Doris moved here in 1958 from Spruce Pine. She was a Homemaker, and member of the Central Church of Christ. Doris was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Charles B. Barber. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Bonine of Winter Haven; her grandchildren: Katie Bishop (Nathan), Benjamin Bonine, and Nicholas Bonine, all of Winter Haven; and her great-granddaughter, Violet Bishop. Visitation will be Monday from 9 to 10 AM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 AM at Lakeside Memorial Park.
