Obituary of Bertha I. McDonald

Bertha I. McDonald of Winter Haven passed away Monday, January 20, 2014 from respiratory failure. She was 74. A native of Malone, Florida, born July 16, 1939 to Jessie and Clemmie Hatcher Elmore, Bertha moved here in 1962. She was a Groomer for A-1 Pet Grooming, and was a member of Christian Heritage Baptist Church. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Johnny Elmore, and her sisters: Katharine Newsome, Dorothy O'Dea, and Alice Elmore. Her loving husband Donald L. McDonald survives her, along with her sons: Curtis Kirk (Brenda), Glenn A. Kirk (Joanne), Mark McDonald, and Lee McDonald (Leslie); her daughters: Kim Collier (Rick), Tina Jacobs (Roy), Donna Morgan (Tom), Debbie Hollington (Terry); and her brother Jessie L. Elmore. Bertha also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven.
