Obituary of Charles Q. Carter

Charles Q. Carter age 84, formerly of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 in Lake Wales, Florida surrounded by his family. A Memorial Mass will be held for him at 11AM, Friday, February 7th at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1311 Robinson Drive, Haines City, FL. 33844. Charlie lived in Ormond Beach, Florida for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Colleen O. Carter, his son David C. Carter and daughter-in-law Karen, his daughter Anne M. Carter-Howe and son-in-law, Timothy Howe, four grandchildren, Sean and Blaine Carter, and MariKate and Marissa Howe as well as his recent first great granddaughter, Peyton Carter. He also had a daughter, Leigh Ann Carter, who died shortly after her birth. Charlie was born in Lock Haven on May 7, 1929. He was the son of Walter F. Carter and Francis Carter. He proudly served in the Army, and then worked at the Adam C. Dickey Company. Later he led the Lock Haven Chamber of Commerce and served as a Housing Authority Director for both Lock Haven and Ormond Beach. Charlie was very passionate regarding the City of Ormond Beach and volunteered extensive time to serve his community during his retirement years. He loved his family and enjoyed watching his four grandchildren as they grew up. He attended all their important events and was there for them any time they needed. We deeply appreciate and thank Cornerstone Hospice for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, mass requests in his honor can be made at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 3 E.
