Obituary of Charles W. Pittman

Capt. Charles W. Pittman, Jr. USN 94, of Winter Haven passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Hospice Forsythe Center in Auburndale. A native of Waycross, GA, born August 18, 1919 to Charles and Reba Pittman, Charles moved here 26 years ago from Jacksonville Beach, FL. He was a 1942 Annapolis graduate, retiring after 33 years as a Naval Aviator, which included service during World War II as a turret officer on the USS Nashville in the Doolittle Raid Task Force. Charles was also a 50-year member of both the Moose Lodge, and the Masonic Grand Lodge of Florida; and the VFW. Charles is survived by his Son Charles W. Pittman, III of Pahrump, NV; his special friend Margie McGuire of Winter Haven, 3 other children, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
