Obituary of Frank Henderson

Frank "Tom" Henderson, 78, of Dundee, FL passed away at his residence on March 6, 2014. He was born on March 17, 1935 in Birmingham, AL and moved to Dundee in 1980 from Jacksonville, FL. Tom owned and operated Tom's Lawn Care for some 20 years and was a member of the Baptist Temple of Dundee. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force, where he worked as an airplane mechanic and worked on the first drone program. Tom graduated from Landmark Baptist College and had a passion for doing mission trips with the Native Americans, he also truly loved learning and to dance, and he had won several medals in the Senior Olympic Games. He was a lifetime member of Post 8 American Legion and the Winter Haven Moose Lodge. He was predeceased by his daughter Alison Diane Stepp and is survived by his wife, Doris Cox Henderson; children, Tommie Jean (Dennis) Hall of Jacksonville, FL, Dixie Ann (Gary) Mallison of Fort Worth, TX, Mark Thomas (Loida) Henderson of Morganton, NC, Paul Emery Henderson of Augusta, GA, Wendy Henderson of Fort Worth, TX; brother Donald Henderson of Birmingham, AL; ten grandchildren and twenty grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City and the funeral will follow at 2 pm at Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City. Memorial donations may be made to the Baptist Temple of Dundee, Building Fund.
