Obituary of Charles Stoyka

Charles Stoyka of Winter Haven passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 from respiratory failure. He was 87. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, born December 19, 1926, Charles moved here in 1988 from Ft. Lauderdale. He was a self-employed owner of a used car dealership, and service stations. Charles was a US Army veteran serving in World War II, and he was a member of St. Nectarios Russian Orthodox Church. Charles was predeceased by his first wife Barbara Stoyka. He is survived by his loving wife Joan Stoyka of Winter Haven; his sons: Charles Stoyka of Lakeland, Daniel Stoyka (Theresa) and Thomas Stoyka (Elizabeth) of Winter Haven; his daughter Patricia Timbrook (Tim) of Gwinn, MI; his step-son Gregory Filipowicz (Chris) of Bloomfield Hills, MI; his brother: Mike Stoyka of Warren, MI; 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday from 12 noon until 8:00 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral mass will be Monday 11:00 AM at St. Nectarios Russian Orthodox Church in Lakeland. Interment will be at Auburndale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Nectarios Church, 405 Marcum Road, Lakeland, FL 33809.
