Obituary of Darrell O'Neal Hurst

Darrell O'Neal Hurst, 67, of Winter Haven, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Winter Haven Hospital due to heart failure. Born September 29, 1946 in Winter Haven to Henry and Lucille Drawdy Hurst, he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was self-employed and was a member of the Winter Haven Seventh Day Adventist Church. He is preceded in death by: his father and a brother, Danny Hurst. Darrell is survived by: his wife of 46 years, Sally; a son, Matt Hurst of Auburndale; 2 daughters, Sheila Hurst and her husband, Donnie Bastin of Auburndale and Jan Hurst of Auburndale; a brother, Ron Hurst of Auburndale; and 4 grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm till 8:00pm, Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral Services will be at 10:00am, Friday in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens in Auburndale. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in his name to the Winter Haven Seventh Day Adventist Church.
