Obituary of Hil Scurrey

LAKE ALFRED - Hildred O. "Hil" Scurrey, Jr. of Lake Alfred, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 from heart failure. He was 69. A native of Jacksonville, Florida, born August 3, 1944 to Hildred and Madalyn Guthrie Scurrey, Hil moved here in 1998 from Jacksonville. He retired from the scheduling department at Florida distillers. Hil was preceded in death by his son Michael. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann Scurrey of Lake Alfred; his daughter Kari Mattox (Jamie) of Gainesville, FL; his sons: Beau Scurrey (Mary) and Jason Mattox (Kelly) of Hamden, CT; his granddaughters: Brianna, Savannah, Riley, and Olivia; his grandson Beau; and his great-grandson Waylon. Hil is also survived by loving cousins, nieces and nephews. There will be a gathering of friends at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven from 2 to 3:00 PM Thursday.
