Obituary of Warren C. McNabb

Warren C. McNabb - 96 Winter Haven, FL Warren Colburn McNabb, 96, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 at Good Shepherd Hospice House, Auburndale, FL due to congestive heart failure. Mr. McNabb was born in Grand Rapids, MI in 1917; he was the oldest of three sons and the first of his generation in the McNabb family. Until he passed he was the oldest member of the McNabb family who has held a large family reunion in Lansing MI for the past 75 years. He married Marion Renberg in 1939 in Royal Oak, MI. Warren and Marion had 4 children, Carol Sue (Bob) Hutchinson of Winter Haven, FL, Janet (John) Lyle of Matawan NJ, Charlene (Rick) Miotke of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, and Charles E (Deborah) McNabb of Grand Rapids, MI. Mr. McNabb was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Warren worked for National Broach Division of Lear Siegler Corp. (Red Ring Products) as a gear design engineer for 44 years and retired in 1979. During his career he published several technical books and manuals and also held several design and production patents. Upon retirement they moved to Pentwater MI where they lived for 29 years, they moved to Spring Haven Retirement Community in 2008, because of Marion's advanced Alzheimer's disease. She passed in 2008, they were married for 69 years. Mr. McNabb was active in both Presbyterian and United Methodist churches. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Winter Haven. He was a man of faith and church leader, Sunday school teacher, choir member, lay leader, annual conference member, sound technician and council member. At Spring Haven besides being his wife's caregiver for 17 years he was an active Bridge player, participating in a WII bowling league with several 300 games and had several Senior Games gold medals. A celebration of his life will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church Thursday at 11:00am and in Grand Rapids at a later date. Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Winter Haven will be assisting with Funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in his honor to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale FL 33823.
