Obituary of Clara Vickers Smith

Clara Vickers Smith of Auburndale passed away Friday, June 6, 2014 at her home from Respiratory failure. She was 82. A native of Cookeville, TN, born July 29, 1931 to Claude and Laura Robinson Cole, Clara moved to this area in 1957 from Tennessee. She was the owner of Vickers Custom Draperies for 35 years, and she was a devoted member to the Central Assembly of God in Auburndale, where she was involved in the mission program, and feeding the less fortunate. Clara was preceded in death by her husbands, A.J. Vickers and Guy Smith, her brother James Cole, and her sister Catherine Cole Goodwin. Clara is survived by her daughter: Judy Koepsell of Auburndale; her son Melton Vickers of Lakeland; her grandchildren: Kenny, Bryan, Jay, Lisa and Clara, and her great grandchildren: Madison, Brody, Devon, Brian, Bryleigh, Katie, and Jacob. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at the Central Assembly of God, 601 Lemon Street, Auburndale. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 10:00 AM at the church.
