You will not know me but I moved to Florida about 25 years ago after the sudden loss of my husband at age 50. I remember going to Lavender and Lace and having Elmo wait on us. What a delight it was and to hear all the tricks he had up his sleeve too. After the restaurant was opened in the older home I was able to come there on a few occasions and have also been to your current location. I spend summers in Michigan where my family is but was so sad to hear of your loss. My love and prayers with fond memories of good food, great service, and delightful Elmo. Bonnie Kelly

My deepest sympathies to Linda and Elmo's family. Elmo was such a wonderful man, magician, and human being. I learned so much just by watching him, and being around him. I am living in Japan and getting to live my dream of being a professional magician in part by what I learned from Elmo! I was truly a one of a kind, original man! All my love, Steve

Shared two mission trips with Elmo and Linda with Heartland Community Church, what a joy to watch the childrens faces ( and adults) when he would do his magic tricks. As soon a s word got around, there was magic tricks the crowd around him would get bigger and bigger and the smiles, laughter and joy could be felt, and seen all around him. Such a blessing to have known him, always in my heart. Dorothy White

Elmo-Horace and I loved having lunch at the Shady Oaks. Elmo we ways enjoyed your magic tricks. Never forgot the day some ladies visiting from up north wouldn't eat there when they saw us because they said a tea room was for women, not men and they left never understanding they just left the best place in town to eat. It was a pleasure having known you and that wonderful smile you always had. God's speed as you journey to heaven. Rick Riggs, Myrtle Beach SC

Linda, Carroll & I would like to express how sad it was for us to learn of Elmo's passing. He was one of the most cheerful, loving, and happy man that we have ever met. I remember getting to know Elmo on my first mission trip to Nicaragua as Elmo did his magic tricks. It was a joy to see the pleasure that he gave others; and, giving pleasure to others seemed to be his life's goal. Daily he was an example to others of God's love, compassion and belief that with God all things are possible. Our prayers are with you and the family. Sincerely, Carroll & Judy Lasseter
