Obituary of Philip James McDonald

Philip James McDonald, Sr. passed away at home on July 1, 2014 at 2:50 pm after losing his battle with lung cancer. Philip was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on August 15, 1943 to Stanley Ward McDonald, Sr. and Ruth Katherine McDonald. Philip lived with his wife and two children in Phillipston, Mass until 1979 and moved to Haines City, Florida where he resided until his death. Philip was a hard working man and retired in 2013 from Sheraton Vistana Resort where he worked for 28 years. He leaves behind his wife, Linda (Babineau) McDonald of 45 years, his son Philip J. McDonald, Jr. and his daughter, Michelle (McDonald) Fogleson. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, Tiffany Fogleson, Taylor McDonald, Victoria McDonald, Philip Jordan McDonald, Noah Fogleson, Mickell Morris, Casey Morris, Dexter Thomas, and Maggie White. He also leaves behind his nephew, Shawn McDonald and niece, Melissa McDonald. Phil had a wonderful sense of humor, was quick witted and was liked by everyone he met. He made family functions a lot of fun. He was always ready to get involved with a prank or to surprise someone with a visit. Philip was loved by all and will be missed by everyone who was blessed to know him. Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 5th at 2:00 pm at the Gospel Community Church located on 17-92 in Davenport, Florida.
