Obituary of Bessie Mae Griffith

Bessie Mae Griffith of Davenport, Florida passed away on July 20, 2014. She was 87. She was born on August 21, 1926 in Higdon, Alabama to Dennis Cagle and Eva Jane Tinker and moved to Davenport in 1961 from Bryant, Alabama. Bessie Mae had worked as a maid and laundry attendant with Days Inn in Kissimmee, Florida. She was of the Baptist faith and loved to go shopping with her daughter. At home she enjoyed working outside or spending time with her dogs. Bessie Mae was predeceased by her parents; her husband, R.L. Griffith and she is survived by her son, Robert L. Griffith and his wife Brenda of Waverly, Florida; daughter, Shirley Griffith of Davenport, Florida; son, Jerry Griffith of Davenport, Florida; grandchildren, Sherry Griffith, Teresa Kelly, Randy Griffith; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. A visitation will be Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City and a graveside service will follow at 11:00 am at Evergreen Cemetery in Davenport, Florida with Chaplain Sherry Embry officiating.
