Obituary of Jimmie C. Whitfield

Jimmie C. Whitfield, 70, of Winter Haven passed away, Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Spring Lake Nursing Center in Winter Haven due to respiratory failure. Born March 4, 1944 in Altha, FL he was a lifelong resident of Winter Haven. He was a block mason and was a member of Wahneta Church of God. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Opal Bodiford Whitfield and a step-daughter, Tina Janose. Jimmie is survived by: his wife of 27 years, Laguan; a son, Jimmie C Whitfield, Jr. of Eagle Lake; a step-son, Chet Janose of Dundee; a step-daughter, Lisa Watson of Winter Haven; three brothers, Harold Whitfield of Winter Haven, Wesley Whitfield of Winter Haven and Ronnie Whitfield of Winter Haven ; a sister, Patsy Powell of Eagle Lake; and eight grandchildren, Alyssa Robertson, Nathan Robertson, Chase Janose, Brixton Janose, Zaedon Janose, Adam Whitfield, Jacob Whitfield and Jimmie Shane Whitfield. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm till 8:00pm, Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral Services will be at 10:00am, Thursday, August 7, 2014 in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Eagle Lake Church of Christ Cemetery.
