Obituary of Virginia Rebecca Groover

Virginia Rebecca Groover of Winter Haven went on to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, August 18, 2014. She was 95. A native of Lakeland, born February 19, 1919 to William August Martin and Sara Victoria Williford Martin, Virginia has lived in this area her whole life. She retired from Winter Haven Hospital after 32 years as Head of Housekeeping. Virginia was saved at the Southside Baptist Church where she was a member, and taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She was part of the beginning of Hope Baptist Church, where she was a member until her passing Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, James Alvie Groover. She is survived by her sons: John A. Groover (Annette) and Virgil M. Groover (Ruth Ann); her grandchildren: Desi Groover (Debbie), Kris Groover (Theresa), Reba Mauldin (Mitchell), Carrie Groover and Timothy Groover (Claudia). She also leaves behind 8 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday from 9 to 10AM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven.
