Obituary of Gerald Wayne Short

Gerald Wayne Short, 83, of Haines City, FL passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Winter Haven Hospital. Born December 1, 1930 in rural West Unity, Ohio to Seth and Lillian Rufenacht Short, he moved to Florida 26 years ago from West Unity, OH. Before retiring he was the owner of Short Chevrolet in West Unity. He was a veteran of the USMC and served in the Korean War, a member of American Legion Post 669 in West Unity and a member of the West Unity United Methodist Church. Gerald is survived by: his wife of 61 years, Suzanne; 3 daughters, Kathy Dick of West Unity, OH, Jane Krauska of The Villages, FL and Sally James of Plant City, FL; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00am till 11:00am, Monday, September 8, 2014 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 1001 Grace Avenue, Haines City, FL.
