Obituary of Earl Sasnett

Earl Sasnett, 83, of Winter Haven, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at his residence due to COPD. Born August 20, 1931 in Newton, AL he moved to Florida in 1946. He was a Sales Representative for Southwest Pipe and Supply and a member of Berea Baptist Church in Auburndale. Earl was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean War where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He loved his family, loved to fish, and was a member of the VFW in Auburndale. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Lena Sasnett; 2 brothers, Joseph B. Sasnett and Earls twin brother, Burl Sasnett; and 2 sisters, Mattie Bell Tucker and Florine Turner. Earl is survived by: his wife of 63 years, Betty; a daughter, Kathy Sasnett Vines and her husband Brent of Auburndale; 3 sons, David Sasnett and his wife Cathy of Madison, FL, Boyd Sasnett and his wife Dawn of Auburndale, FL and John Eric Sasnett and his wife Teri of Auburndale,; 2 sisters, Ruby Jordan of Dover, FL and Sara Frances Sasnett of Auburndale; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren The family will receive friends from 2:00pm till 4:00pm, Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. A Funeral Service will be held at 10am, Monday, Sept. 15, 2014 in the Oak Ridge Funeral Care Chapel. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
