Obituary of Myrtice H. Stolz

Myrtice Jesse Harvey Stolz passed as she lived peacefully and beautifully in her home Friday, September 12, 2014 at 98 years old. Her life to the end was happily shared with dear friends, neighbors, wonderful caregivers and loving family. She was born March 12, 1916 to Mamie Myrtice Forsythe Harvey and Brainerd Mitchell Harvey in Waldo, Florida. She was educated there, Gainesville High School and graduated from Florida Statge College for Women. After Marriage to Charles Stolz they came to Winter Haven to accept Charlie's coaching career. She began teaching elementary education in 1936 until retirement in 1971. Oh how she loved her students and seeing so many grow up and lead wonderful lives. After retirement they traveled near and far. She loved flowers, food, fellowship, golf, sewing, painting, and most especially, friendships. She survived the passing of Charles Edward, after 62 years of marriage, and her daughter Ann Darling Stolz Thayer. Ann's children are Ginny Thayer Dunson and her husband Les, Samuel Thayer and his wife Marisha Nowak, Tommy Thayer and his wife Michelle; Daughter Ginger Stolz Chad and her children: Randy Snively and his wife Nina, Scott Snively, and Bill Snively and his wife Jennifer. The celebration of her life will be Wednesday, September 17th. At the First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven. A gathering of friendship will be 10:00AM at McLeod Hall with Memorial service in sanctuary at 11:00 AM. Myrtice has strongly requested in lieu of flowers, she wants to honor the professional, dedicated, and loving care given to her go to GOOD SHEPHERD HOSPICE.
