Obituary of Mary Edwards

HAINES CITY - Mary "Nig" Edwards, 88, of Haines City died Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at The Crossroads in Davenport. She was born November 27, 1925 in Willacoochee, Georgia, to Jefferson and Maggie (Rowe) Knowles. Mrs. Edwards was Baptist by faith and enjoyed being a homemaker. She was well known for her love of collecting frogs and her enjoyment of buying scratch off lottery tickets, but her true passion was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband; son Robert B. Carroll; and sister Lela Mae Smith. She is survived by her son Ronald Bruce Edwards; daughters Peggy L. Joiner, Cynthia M. Strickland and Nona (Roland) Newbold; grandchildren Jeremy, Katrina, Sherman, Tiffany, Matthew and Zevin; and great grandchildren D.J., Lucas, Ava and Jacob. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 2-3 PM with Funeral Services to follow at 3 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care Haines City.
