Obituary of Donald Earle Ward

Donald E. Ward, 87, of Lakeland passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Veterans Day, November 11, 2014. Don was born in Georgiana, AL on July 1, 1927. His family settled in Haines City in 1937 where he resided for 70 years; he then moved to Lakeland in 2006. Don served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as an accountant for Holly Hill and B.C. Cook & Sons and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Haines City. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Dempsey & Eleanor Ward, siblings Annie Will Schneider, Clayton Ward, Marguerite Byrd, Oneita Lindvall, and Elsie Provoyeur. He is survived by his loving wife, Kay, of 61 years, children David, Eleanor Waller (Tom), Elizabeth Yawn (Tim), Douglas, Elaine Fife (Mike), and grandchildren, Rachel & Michele Waller, Christopher & Deanna Ward, Erin & Sarah Yawn, Joe, Josh & Jesse Fife. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, Nov 17, 2014 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City.
