Obituary of John Louis Karrer

John Louis Karrer, a resident of Auburndale, passed away on January 5, 2015 in Winter Haven Hospital at the age of 91. Commander Karrer was born on September 29, 1923 in Wisconsin, enlisted in the Navy in 1942 as a Hospital Apprentice and retired from the Navy in 1973 as a Hospital Administrator. Upon retirement he relocated to Port St. Lucie, FL and moved to Auburndale in 1990. He was a member of the Military Officers Association of America, Navy Fleet Reserve Association, the National Association for Uniformed Services, the Navy League, the Naval Institute, the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, Public Citizen, Judicial Watch, the Patrick Henry Center, the American Conservative Union and the American Atheist. He was preceded in death by his parents and June, his wife of 65 years and is survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
