Obituary of Beverly Gibb

Beverly Jane Gibb, 79, of Leesburg, VA originally from Pittsburgh, PA passed peacefully on November 1, 2020 in Davenport, FL where she had just moved to enjoy the warm sunshine state and enjoy retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Nell Jelinek, ex-husband, Lawrence Gibb, and half brother Herman “Red” Jelinek. She is survived by her children; Brenda Gibb, Larry “Butch” Gibb (Cathy), Barry Gibb (Katryna), Robert “Bobby” Gibb (Misha); six grandchildren, Brandon Crawford (Sommer), Anthony Kolek, Jamie Birt (Russ) Brittney Berger (Michael), Kyle Gibb and Rachel Gibb; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; Amya Kolek, Adelyn Crawford, Jasper Crawford and Jameson Berger, along with siblings sister Patricia Chapaitis (Robert), brother James Jelinek, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and family. Born March 23, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA and later moving to Virginia where she spent most of her life. She worked at Drug Fair and Basics for several years before starting her career at Shoppers Food Warehouse for 29 years. She retired making many friends along the way. If you shopped at these stores, you would remember Beverly with her huge smile and warm heart. She was always willing to help a hand but was not afraid to speak her mind. Beverly loved flowers, as she oversaw the floral department for many years at Shoppers, along with making flower arrangements for friend’s weddings and other events. She always had the most beautiful flowers outside her home and took pride in taking care of them every day which gave her joy. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, baking and all crafts. She loved to cook for her family and have gatherings that could feed an army. She could make anything you asked her to, and it always was perfect! She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers & Penguins fan. She had a love for reading and doing adult coloring books and puzzles. She took pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always loved having them around. She enjoyed cruising the Caribbean when she was able and could not wait for COVID-19 to dissipate so she could travel and see family and friends again. She left behind her adorable companion Chloe, an 8-year-old Cavachon, who was her best friend and never left her side but also gave Beverly purpose and companionship always. She will be missed by many but we have comfort in knowing the good Lord brought her “home” and she has reunited with the loved ones that went before her and is watching over all of us here on earth.
