Obituary of Joan M. Johnston

Joan Johnston went to be with the lord peacefully on December 10, 2021. Joan was born in Queens, New York where she was raised by her parents Hazel and Vincent Costello. A resident of Lake Ashton for 18 years and former resident of Marlton NJ. She will forever be cherished by her husband James Johnston, sister Marybeth Lohbauer, daughter Peggy Hitchcock, son-in-law Thomas Hitchcock, Granddaughters Megan Kelly, and Colleen Lundrigan, Grandson-in-law Ted Kelly and Great Grandchildren Haily, Chris, Adrianna, Aidan, Khloe, Alyssa, and Olivia Kelly. Joan was a devoted catholic and parishioner of St. Matthews church for over a decade. She worked in accounting for GE for several years in New York. Joan was a special caring lady and enjoyed devoting her time helping others. Joan spent several years volunteering at Winter Haven Hospital devoting time as president on the auxiliary board and volunteering at the gift shop. Joan also spent several years volunteering for Make A Wish granting over a dozen children wishes and give kids the world. Joan will be missed by all and will forever be in our hearts.
