Obituary of Richard Glen Tapley

Richard Glen Tapley, Sr. June 18, 1945 – February 24, 2022 Richard Glen Tapley, Sr. died on February 24th at his home in Lake Wales, Florida at the age of 76. Mr. Tapley was born on June 18, 1945 in Haines City, Florida to Cordie and Bertie Tapley. Mr. Tapley loved the outdoors, particularly fishing, working in his yard and his garden and he enjoyed traveling. He had no shortage of jokes and a quick sense of humor, especially when it came to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was quick to befriend almost anyone he met, and he will be missed by all who knew him. Mr. Tapley is preceded in death by his father, Cordie ; mother Bertie and eldest son, Richard, Jr. He is survived by his wife, of 56 years, Ardelle; son, Robert and wife, Yvonne; daughter, Shirley and husband, David; grandchildren, Josh and wife, Amber, Charlene and husband, Adam, Amanda and husband, Lamar, Tabiatha and husband, Shawn, Nathaniel, Madison and Anthony, as well as great grandchildren, Joshua, Richard, Emaly, Daiton, Paisley, Avah, Kayden, Kamden, Riley, Zoey, Baxton and Kinsley. A visitation will be Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 2:00 pm until the funeral at 3:00 pm all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City. The committal will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Davenport, Florida.
