Obituary of Dama Shara Massey

Dama Shara Massey 53, born to this life on November 19, 1968 in Winter Haven, Florida and entered into eternal life on March 3, 2022 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida. Dama was born to Damon and Sharon Massey of Winter Haven, Florida. She was a multiple medal winner of various events for the Special Olympics and received many acknowledgements from the Ridge Arc Center. Dama participated in their day program, there she had many loving friends, instructors, and caregivers who filled her life with purpose and love. Dama's smile and warm personality created happiness wherever she went. The world was a better place by having her in it. She loved her radio with headphones, dancing, singing and receiving cards in the mail. Dama was preceded in death by her parents; Damon and Sharon, paternal grandparents; Tellas and Hazel Massey and maternal grandparents; Leonard and Virginia Roberts, and nephew; Tellas Massey. Dama is survived by three siblings; Misty Patterson-Hulsey (Michael), Kim Knowles, and Monie Massey, three aunts; Clarice Boswell, Kay Widlacki (Felix) and Beth Deck (Wayne) and an uncle; Edward Roberts (Sally), three nieces; Heather Carino (Daniel), Phoebe Condrey, and Kaylee Merritt, three nephews; Logan Taylor (Adam), Cory Patterson, and Devin Massey, and four great- nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 12, from 1-2pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven, FL and Funeral Services will following at 2:00pm in the chapel. There will be a private burial by invitation only.
