Obituary of Marlin Kedrick Gashaw

Marlin Kedrick Gashaw, 81, a longtime resident of Davenport, Florida passed away on December 18th, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on July 15, 1941 in Ashford, Alabama to Virgil Richard Gashaw and Zama Grace Parmer. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Haines City. Marlin worked for General Telephone (GTE/Verizon/Frontier) for over 50 years before retiring in 2019. He married the love of his life, Frances Janette Gill in 1962 and they shared 60 years of memories together. Marlin was a carpenter and woodworking enthusiast, an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting, and a fan of Alabama football (Roll Tide!) He enjoyed spending time with his family, tinkering on things, and sharing stories of his past.

 

He is preceded in death by his mother and father Virgil and Zama Grace Gashaw. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Frances Janette Gashaw; his three sons Kyle Gashaw and wife Karen of Haines City, FL; Kelvin Gashaw and wife Debbie of Shelbyville, TN; Keith Gashaw and wife Kim of Dayton, TX; He was blessed to have loved seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He will truly be missed by all. Even in darkness, his light will continue to shine through every heart he touched.

 

Services will be held Thursday, December 22, 2022, at the Central Church of Christ on Robinson Drive in Haines City. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the funeral begins at 11:00 am. Final resting place will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Davenport, FL.
