Obituary of Lorraine "Tootsie" Gamache

Lorraine “Tootsie” Gamache, from Davenport, FL, and formerly of Tiverton, Rhode Island passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023. She was 87 years old. 

She was born on December 13, 1935, to Joseph and Georgina (Cadima) Souza in Fall River, Massachusetts and she was raised and raised her family in Tiverton until moving to Florida in 1988. Lorraine came to Davenport in 2006. After moving to Florida, she worked as a receptionist for Watson Chiropractic in Apopka, Florida, but while in Tiverton she worked as a secretary for Saint Christopher’s Catholic Church. She was of the Catholic faith and loved to spend time doting on her grandsons. Lorraine enjoyed watching TV, playing Bingo or Blackjack on her iPad, or listening to the music of Danny O’Donnell to pass the time.  

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Georgina; her husband Robert J. Gamache and her brother, Joseph Souza, Jr. Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Oliveira and her husband, Stephen of Apopka, Florida; as well as her son, Thomas Gamache and his wife, Melissa as well as her grandsons, Zachary Gamache, Jordan Gamache and his wife Torri, and Benjamin Gamache.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 834 South Orange Blossom Trail, Apopka, FL 33584 at 11 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2023.
