Obituary of Cecil "Boe" "Pop" Harris

Cecil “Boe” “Pop” Harris of Lake Hamilton, Florida passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023. He was 84 years old. 

He was born on Monday, September 19, 1938, in Richland, Georgia to Cecil Harris, Sr. and Christine Alfa Miles Harris. He and his family moved to the area some 58 years ago and started a career that lasted 40 years at Holly Hill Citrus, retiring as Shop Foreman of the Grove Care Department. Pop was an outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish, but it was fishing that he shared his most treasured memories with his family. Once it was time to go inside you would catch him watching his television. Cecil was a member of First Baptist Church of Dundee.  

Cecil was predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Christine, his daughter, Brenda Kay Smith, as well as the Love of his life and wife, Katherine Harris. He is survived by his sons, James Harris and his wife, Sue of Winter Haven, FL; Dennis Harris and his wife, Anita of Haines City, FL; siblings, Mary Greenlee of Haines City, FL, John Richard Harris of Montgomery, AL, Edgar Harris of Alabama, Bill Harris of Haines City; grandsons, Jimmy Harris of Lakeland, FL, Dalton Harris of Lake Wales, FL and Austin Harris of Lake Wales. 

A visitation will be Tuesday, April 4, 2023, from 10 am until the funeral at 11 am, all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care Haines City with Pastor Michael Disney officiating. The final resting place will be alongside the Love of his life, Katherine, in Forest Hill Cemetery.
