Obituary of Greta Joann Johns

Greta Joann Johns, 92, of Winter Haven, passed away peacefully at her residencee at Lake Howard Heights on October 25, 2023. She was born on March 7, 1931 and grew up in Kokomo, IN. After graduating from Kokomo High School, she was married to her husband Jack V. Johns. They were married for 64 years before he passed away in 2013.

The couple moved to Winter Haven from Indiana in 1972, eventually settling at Cypresswood Golf Club where they lived until Jack's passing. Greta then relocated to Lake Howard Heights for her remaining years. They were members of St. Johns Methodist Church. She often worked alongside her family at Southpoint Distributing.

In addition to Jack, she was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar L. Eades and Barbara Eades. She had two siblings, Mark Eades (Sharon) of Frankfort, IN and Cheryl Braden (Scott) of Sarasota, FL. She is survived and will be missed by two sons, Jeff Johns (Terri) of Winter Haven, FL and Doug Johns (Lynn) of Juno, FL. She had five grandchildren, Tiffany Kimble, Justin Johns, Eric Johns, Jeremy Johns, and Tricia Almquist, and eight great grandchildren.

There will be a private family ceremony at Sarasota National Cemetery where she will be inurned alongside her husband.
