Obituary of Ethel Marie Pipkins

Ethel Marie Pipkins, 88, a lifelong Haines City resident, peacefully passed away on November 11, 2023, at Haines City Health Care.

Born on January 2, 1935, in Davenport, FL, to Ambrose and Nellie Rohn Matthews, Marie dedicated 25 years to the citrus industry and later spent a decade at Stokely Vann Camp's cooler store. She then embraced homemaking to care for her family. Marie was a former member of Eastside Baptist Church in Haines City, FL, she found joy in flowers, yard work, and reading.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herschel Pipkins; brothers, Lewis and Earl Matthews; and sister, Belle Spooner. Marie leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Craig Pipkins and wife, Mary of Haines City, FL and Tony Pipkins and husband, Richard of Alturas, FL; daughters, Beverly Reece of Haines City, FL, Delia Mobley of Port St. Lucy, FL, and Jo Lynn Willoughby and husband, Tommy of Davenport, FL; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 9:00 am for the immediate family, 10:00 am for the public and the funeral service will be at 11:00 am all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, FL. Final resting place will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City, FL.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
