Cecile Egger

Obituary of Cecile M. Egger

Cecile was born in Umatilla, FL in 1931 to Edward & Mae Arnold.  She was married to Donald Egger on March 11, 1947 after he returned from WWII. They settled in Davenport, FL where, for 42 years, they ran a successful business -- Don's Shell Service.  Davenport was also where they raised a loving family, and met the many great people whose fellowship they enjoyed throughout their lives.

Don & Cecile had five wonderful children who were always the center of Cecile’s life: Ronald, Robert, Richard, Susan, & Rusty. Her family was never far from her mind throughout her life, and their lives and well-being continued to occupy her even in her final days. Cecile was further blessed with 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Until her health would no longer allow it, she remembered every birthday and holiday with a cake, card, or phone call to stay in touch with them all.  Cecile also had one sister, Cathy Hancock, whose affection and relationship she greatly treasured throughout her later years.

Cecile was preceded in death by her parents Edward & Mae; her husband, Don; and her youngest son, Rusty. She is survived by her children, Ronald & Pam Egger; Robert & Sherry Egger, Richard & Lynn Egger, Susan & Bruce Davis; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sister, Cathy Hancock. She will be remembered especially for her love of life, and her warmth and attachment to everyone around her.

Cecile wished to be reunited with Don in a small ceremony at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell in the near future.
