Obituary of Sandra "Sandy" Irene Piccuito

Sandra (Sandy) Irene Piccuito, age 82, of Winter Haven, FL passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 28th, 2023.

Sandra was born in Whitman, MA. on September 29th, 1941 to Curtis & Lucy Pierce of East Bridgewater, MA.

Sandra grew up in Hanson, Massachusetts and at the age of 21, married William R. Burns of Halifax.  Together, they had three children: a son, William Robert Jr., and two daughters, Sherri Lee and Lana Marie.  The family lived in Pembroke, MA until the death of Sandra’s husband, then she and her children moved to Florida and she married her second husband, Carlo E. Piccuito.  In Florida, she lived in Lake Hamilton, Haines City, and Winter Haven area.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Lucy Pierce, by her first husband William R. Burns, by her second husband Carlo E. Piccuito, by her second child, Sherri L. Pickett, and by her granddaughter Tiffany Marie Pickett.  She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Jean Moore, Jerry Pierce, Curtis Pierce Jr., and Frederick (Ricky) Pierce.

Sandy is survived by her son William R. Burns Jr. (and wife Sheila) of Olive Branch, MS and her daughter Lana Marie Norton (and husband Mark) of Haines City, FL as well as her grand children and great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her siblings: Dottie Stewart, Donnie Pierce, Rodney Pierce, Jane Akusis, Dana Pierce and Debra Dorriety.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Lake Howard Heights (Winter Haven) and VITAS Hospice at Advent Health Lake Wales for their participation in Sandra’s care prior to her death.

A graveside service will be held in her honor on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024 at 2:00 pm for family and friends at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City, Florida.

A gathering for family will immediately follow at 7785 Lake Hatchineha Rd. Haines City, FL.
