Obituary of Royce F. Willis

Royce F. “CORKY” Willis, 92, of Davenport, FL passed away on January 6, 2024. He was born in Haines City, FL on January 25, 1931, to Fred and Ada Willis and was a lifelong resident of the Haines City/Davenport Area.

Corky, along with his adoring wife, was a co-owner of Southern Grove Topping for some 30 years. He was a proud member of the US Army serving in the Security Agency during the Korean War and was of the Christian faith. It is said that Corky was a true outdoorsman who loved to fish and work in his garden, in fact he could charm just about any animal and befriend it.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Eunice Heyer. Corky is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Carolyn Thrower Willis; daughter, April (Frankie) Miller; son, Brian Willis; siblings, Kenneth Willis, Tommy Willis and Patti (James) Levan; grandchildren, Kade Bradbury, Tori Willis McKelvey, Jesse Willis as well as Taylor Willis.

A visitation will be Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 1 pm until the funeral at 2 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City.
