Obituary of Alfred Duaine Ferry

Alfred Duaine “A.D.” Ferry, 78, of Lake Hamilton Florida, passed away on January 4, 2024, in Winter Haven. He was born in Watonga, Oklahoma on December 13, 1945, to Bud and Bessie Ferry. His older sisters, Delores and Kaye doted on their baby brother. A.D. married the love of his life, Regina Sue Ward in 1966. They met in in kindergarten but fell in love after high school. They were married right before his deployment to Vietnam. Together they raised three children in California. A.D and Regina had a deep love and inseparable connection that was amazing to see and many envied. A.D. was a proud Vietnam Veteran, serving two tours in a helicopter unit. He came home and began his career with the California Division of Forestry and became a Fire Captain before retiring in 1982. A.D. loved his family, and his grandkids were his pride and joy. He loved taking them camping, fishing, and anything Disney. He was the best Papa to his four grandchildren, Sierra Hoff, Austin Edwards, Dalton Edwards, and Taylor Pratt. They loved it when he “washed his eyeball” for them or made them do exercises in the parking lot before going to Disneyland. A.D. is survived by his wife, Regina, daughters, Lisa Niebauer and Michelle Chaney, and son Randy Ferry. Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 23 O’Hara Dr. Haines City, FL with Pastor Rob Terry of Chapel by the Lake Church, officiating. There will be a gathering following at Michelle and Chris Chaney’s home at 2521 Rosemont Circle in Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
