Obituary of Vernon E. Corbin, Sr.
Vernon E. Corbin, Sr. 92, of Orlando, FL passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Dr. Phillips Hospital in Orlando.
Born February 2, 1931, in Baltimore, MD, he moved to Winter Haven, FL in 1982 from Normal, IL.
Vernon was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps; A gifted musician he served as a trombonist in the Marine Corps Marching Band; the Baltimore Colts Marching band and was a gifted accordionist. He was a past member of American Legion Post 8, Winter Haven; a past member of the Winter Haven Italian American Club; and more recently a member of the Central Florida Accordion Club. He was a member of St. Leos Catholic Church in Baltimore, MD and was a retired Deputy Vice President of State Farm Insurance Company.
Vernon was preceded in death by his wife Angeline in 2002.
He is survived by three sons, Vernon E. (Angela) Corbin, Jr. of Orlando, FL, Scott D. (Michelle) Corbin of Windemere, FL and Craig T. (Amy) Corbin of Morehead City, NC; eight grandchildren, Christina, Vernon, Rachel, Brittany, Jessica, Angelina, Chase and Zachary; and one great-grandchild, Hazel. Vernon was also survived by his life partner the past 22 years, RoseMarie Jisa, Cleveland Ohio. They travelled the world, played music, and cruised everywhere together.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm till 8:00pm, Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral Services will be at 11:00am. Thursday, January 25, 2024, in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow at Lakeside Memorial Park in Winter Haven.
