Obituary of Frederick Schrauben

Fred Schrauben, 74, passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2024. He was born in Lansing, Michigan to the late Edwin and Mae Schrauben. Fred was a resident of Dewitt, Michigan and wintered in Lake Wales, Florida, where he always had fun golfing with the guys in Lake Ashton and playing cards and shuffleboard.

Fred's biggest joy was his family! He loved traveling with his wife and taking family vacations with all his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed going to concerts, especially his idol Jimmy Buffett. Fred was also in the Marine Corp Reserves.

Fred is survived by his wife of 33 years, Diane; sons, Wade (Tabatha) Schrauben, and Bret (Adriane) Schrauben; daughters, Lesli Schrauben, and Jami (Darren) Carter; brothers, Larry (Marlene) Schrauben and Herb (Eileen) Schrauben; sisters, Bonnie McClure, Jean (Nick) Meyers, and Jane (Mike) Oehmen; grandchildren, Kory (Maddie), Dalton, Caleb, Addy, Aiden, Gibson, Danton, Sydnee, Derek, and Jagger; and sister-in-law, Patty Ozcan.

Fred was definitely one of a kind and was always the life of the party! He will be remembered for his loving heart, his beaming smile and his tremendous joy for life! He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Cheers Fred, it's 5 o'clock somewhere!

A celebration of life is being planned in Florida and another one later in the spring in Michigan, more details to follow. If you'd like to make a donation in memory of Fred, the family asks that you choose a veteran's charity of your choice.
