Obituary of Carol Erin Mitchell Talarico

Carol Erin Mitchell Talarico, 85, of Haines City, Florida passed away peacefully on February 11, 2024 at The Club in Haines City, Florida. She was born on August 5, 1938 to Arthur & Wanda Fern Mitchell in Rockford, Illinois. Carol moved to Florida with her family and later to Haines City from the Plant City/Tampa area. Carol was a beautician and worked at and managed Ralph's Beauty Salon for many years. She loved her family and found great enjoyment and pleasure in spending time with them. Carol served the Haines City community in many positions during her lifetime; she coached girls little league softball, was an active advocate in drug abuse prevention and she was a board member of The Way Center in Haines City. 

Carol was married to her husband, Ralph Talarico on February 14, 2004. At her retirement, they enjoyed many years together traveling to the Northeast Georgia area and lived there for several years before returning to Haines City. While in Georgia, Carol served her community there by volunteering at White County Life, as a volunteer in nursing homes to do hair for the residents and as an advocate for the United States Veterans. Carol and Ralph enjoyed volunteering their time together in many churches in the Cleveland, GA area preparing and serving meals.

Carol enjoyed baking and loved to read cookbooks, she enjoyed attending antique auctions, writing short stories and poems, and she absolutely loved holding babies in her lap. She attended NorthRidge Church and loved her Church and church family.

Carol was predeceased by her parents; her daughter, Cheryl Ferguson; her brother, Roger Mitchell; step-son, Robert Talarico; and great-grandson, Cody Nickless. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Talarico; her children, Penny Taylor, Bruce (Cherie) Nickless; step-daughter, Renee (Eddie) Stovall; her brothers, Paul (Linda) Mitchell, and David (Mary) Mitchell; her sister in law, Darla Mitchell; her grandchildren, Jeremiah Nickless, Tracie Ferguson, Christopher Ferguson, Shanna Solomon, Hope Filipe, Mary Rose Robertson, and Devin Fowler; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 19, 2024 at NorthRidge Chruch in Haines City, with Dr. David Myers, officiating.
