Obituary of Barbara Wallensack

Barbara Wallensack of Haines City, FL passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024. She was 88 years old.

She was born on Tuesday, October 1, 1935, to Charles and Ruth Barnard in Chicago, Illinois. In 1989, she made Haines City her home after relocating from Lombard, Illinois. Barbara was a dedicated homemaker and a member of St Ann Catholic Church in Haines City.

Barbara enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, baking, gardening, and watching sports, especially the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Cubs and Blackhawks. Above all, Barbara cherished the moments with her children, grandchildren and her friends. It was said that she was funny, loved a good joke and had an outgoing personality, always bringing happiness to those around her.

Barbara is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Ruth; her beloved husband, Don Wallensack; son, Daniel Wallensack; and brothers, Charles and Richard Barnard. She is survived by her children, Deb Weimer and her husband, Dave of Lombard, IL, Dave Wallensack and his wife, Kim of Naperville, IL, and Doug Wallensack and his wife, Jean of Laguna Hills, CA; and grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Stacy, Heather, Stephanie, Jessica, Sarah, Ashley, Matthew as well as great granddaughter, Piper.

A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 9:00 am until the funeral at 9:30 am at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, FL. Interment will follow at 1:30 pm at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
