Kathy Humbert

Obituary of Kathy D. Humbert

Cathy (Kathy) Thomas Humbert, 65, of Winter Haven, Florida was gloriously called to her eternal home and into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024. She passed peacefully at home with her family after a three year battle with breast cancer.

Cathy was retired from State Farm and GTE/Verizon at the time of her passing. She was dedicated to her church, her family, and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ with every opportunity she was given. She was a loving and kind soul that touched everyone with her faith and unconditional love and was known for her sweet and empathetic nature, as well as her fighting spirit. She was an advocate for those who were mistreated or in unfortunate circumstances and she considered it an honor to help people as often as she could.

She was an active member of Eastside Assembly of God at the time of her passing and she loved studying and teaching the Bible. She had a fierce love for her family, and her favorite assignment in life was being a “Nana” to her seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Cathy was born in Columbiana, Alabama to Geraldine Hethcox and Adrian Thomas on April 16th, 1958. She moved to Dundee Florida as a child and graduated from Haines City High School in 1976. She remained in the Central Florida area for the remainder of her life. Cathy also enjoyed fishing, crafting, taking pictures (lots of them!) and home renovations. She spent many of her healthier days with friends and family, making memories and sharing her love.

She is preceeded in death by her husband, Charles Daniel Humbert and her parents. Cathy is survived by her brother, Jerome (Sheila) Thomas of Lakeland, FL, and three children, Heather (Chris) Ritchie of Winter Haven, Florida, Nickel (Paul) Cilia of Wimauma, Florida, and Rick (Dawn) Gorman of Lake Wales, Florida. She is also survived by seven grandchildren Autumn (22), Brock (16), Aiden (14), John (12), Caleb (9), Joshua (9), and Matthew (6), as well as two great-grandchildren La’Rae (4) and Christian (2).

We will miss her greatly until we are reunited. We love you, Nana!
