Obituary of Bruce Edward Palm

Bruce Edward Palm, 76, of Haines City, FL, passed away on February 28, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on May 31, 1947, in Toledo, OH, to Leo and Catherine R. Belkofer Palm. Bruce proudly served in the United States Navy for over 13 years, achieving the rank of RM2, before receiving an honorable discharge. His commitment was honored with several decorations, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Air Medal.

Beyond his military service, Bruce was a valued communication specialist for the Navy. His technical expertise and dedication contributed significantly to the success of his unit. Outside of his military service, Bruce was an active member of Stillwater Church in Haines City, FL.

In his personal life, Bruce was a man of diverse interests and passions. He found joy in coin collecting, relishing the historical and artistic significance of each piece. Poker was another pastime he embraced, showcasing his strategic mind and competitive spirit. However, it was in his charity work that Bruce truly shone. Known for his compassionate heart, he dedicated time and energy to fundraising and caring for the less fortunate, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rita Diane Palm, and daughter, Catherine Palm. Bruce leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Regina Nelson, Angela Heater and Kaytlynn Mullinex; son, Jerry Mullinex; brother, Ralph Palm; sister, Phyllis Phillips; and grandchildren, Ciara and Billy Welch and Atlas Barker. He will be dearly missed by all.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 1:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, FL.
