Obituary of John "Johnny" Trusty

John “Johnny” Trusty, 68, of Lakeland, Florida passed away on February 29, 2024. Born in Greenville, South Carolina he moved to Florida some time ago and called it home.   

Johnny was a graduate from Gardner Webb College in North Carolina with a degree in business administration and religion and later earned his master’s degree in business administration from Florida Southern College. He then began his career as a CPA. He was a proud member of Jaycees Tampa Chapter, Guardian Ad Litem program. Johnny enjoyed music and playing the guitar and was an avid golfer. Johnny was a Baptist and went to several churches as he enjoyed each of them.  

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Loosh and Lucille Trusty; sister, Rebecca Trusty; brother, William “Bill” Murray. He is survived by his daughter, Kristin (Jason) Rittenhouse; grandchildren, Brycen and Lyla Rittenhouse; sisters, Debby Mitchell, Cindy Mullinax (Fiancé, Lindsey Ginn); sister in law, Gayla Murray; nieces and nephews, Eva (Chris) Frazier, Lynda (Ronnie) Colon, Christopher (Lauren) Mullinax, Andrea (Jeremy) Jackson, Hannah Mullinax; great nieces and nephews, Eydie Colon, Mali Colon, Caroline Gosnell, Zaiden Jackson and Zenleigh Jackson. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A special thank you to Vitas Hospice; Nurse Practioner, Christina Miller and her staff for going over and beyond during this difficult time, your efforts will truly never be forgotten.
