Obituary of Hugh A Tuttle

Mr Hubert A Tuttle passed away on April 10, 2024 at his home in Winter Haven, FL.

Hugh was born on February 17, 1937 in Schenectady, NY. and lived there until he moved his family to Florida around 1963. He began his career with Scotty’s, working in Sarasota as a warehouseman and lived in various towns throughout Florida working his way up to Vice President of Retail Operations. Hugh was a avid baseball fan and attended Al Somers Umpire School in Daytona Beach. During his time living in Deland he also began umpiring college baseball. Hugh retired from Scottys in 1989 and opened two hugely popular deli’s in Winter Haven called Families Gourmet Sandwiches. After twelve years he decided to finally retire for good.

Hugh is survived by his loving partner Joan Krater, sister Thelma Ackley, sons David Tuttle(Karen) , Benjamin Tuttle, Michael Tuttle, Andrew Steuart, daughters Rebecca Jones(Bob), and Michelle Blankenship(Kevin). He is also survived by his seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A celebration of Life will be held at The Catering Company of Central, Florida in Winter Haven, FL on May 3rd from 11am-2pm.
