Obituary of Shirley Rebecca Wimberly

Shirley Rebecca Wimberly, 77, of Winter Haven went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Tampa General Hospital due to a Stroke. Born August 15, 1935 in Lake City, FL she moved to the area 24 years ago from North Florida. She had worked as an administrative assistant for the church before retirement. She was a member of the Lena Vista Baptist Church in Auburndale. Preceded in death by her husband Dr. Jay Wimberly in March of 2012, she is survived by: her daughter, Dawn McCabe and her husband Brian of Winter Haven; a brother, Ivan Clements of Lake City, FL; a sister Mary Mimbs of Lake City, FL; a grandson, Jarrod Strickland and his wife Lisa of Tampa, FL; and 3 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Hannah and Coen. The family will receive friends from 10:00am till 11:00am, Friday, March 1, 2013 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral Services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:00a.m. .
