Obituary of James Barber

James "Jim" Barber of Haines City, Florida passed away at his residence on December 11, 2013. He was 75. Jim was born on October 6, 1938 in Indiana to Melvin and Mabel Reimer Barber and moved to Haines City from there when he was just 5 years old. He had owned and operated Barber's Sport Shop in Haines City until he sold it and went to work at the Haines City Wal-Mart, working in the sporting goods department for the last 15 years. Jim was also on the Polk County Sherriff Auxiliary for 13 years leaving at the rank of Lieutenant. Among Jim's favorite things to do was going fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his wife, of 51 years, Nancy Karen Barber; daughter, Sherry Davis and her husband Sean of Haines City; son, Daniel Barber of Haines City; sister, Helen Wheeley of Orlando, FL and grandchildren, Hiley and Anthony Barber both of Haines City.
