In 1982 I married Ethel's brother Tommy, Christmas eve night Tommy took me to the Chism family Christmas. The party was held at Ethel and Willards house, oh my gosh I remember being scared to death it was wall to wall Chisms. I bet there were a hundred or more in this small house, but that small house was full and overflowing with love, laughter and geniune care for each other. Four days after the party we were married. Ethel became a role model for me and her love of family was amazing. She made sure to make everyone felt loved and welcomed, Every holiday she would go out of her way to make it special for everyone, like fourth of July she took all the kids and some us the big kids and we went up on their roof to watch the fireworks. Easter the kids had to get in the back of the truck and go for a ride while the eggs were being hidden. The food was always amazing, decorations galore but above all there was always love. Throughout the years Ethel and Willards house was a place of refuge for anyone who needed help. I could continue with so many memories but what I want to say most is Ethel was a big influence on me and a lot of my ways and family values was learned by watching Ethel. Thanks Ethel, love you allways, give Tommy a big hug for me. Until we meet again.

Just learned of Ethel's passing, so sorry to hear this and so soon after Carolyn. I remember Ethel as one of my sisters' friends when they were teenagers and playing the dating game. I went to school with Tommy and Diane and Shirley right behind me. I saw Ethel at her brother Billy's funeral but, was unable to speak to her that day. SHE WILL BE MISSED.
