Unbelievable…I just heard of this today. I am shocked and saddened. Porfiri was my god brother and I have memories of him since childhood. He was a great man and fancied a great chat. You and your dad will be missed!!

Sadly, “Porf” as we knew him, and I will no longer be sharing our earthly May 3 birthdays together or be able to reminisce over the cool “heart-to-heart” talks we use to have in our early Naval days together. That being said, I am very thankful our paths crossed once again at a navy reunion after many decades, with an opportunity to meet his lovely bride, Linda, which he spoke so highly of, and to once again, share one of those brief “heart-to-heart” talks we so used to enjoy. I will always remember “Porf” to be the fun loving guy with a true zest for life and the sincere love of people. “It was an honor and a privilege to serve with you…R.I.P. now my friend…till we meet again…”

My father was the light in a lot of people lives Linda’s, my sons, myself, and my brothers. He was my hero, my best friend, the one I could confide in for anything and my biggest supporter.
