Obituary of Anna T. Armstrong

Anna T. Armstrong, age 99, of Davenport, FL, peacefully went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2024. She was born on November 15, 1924, in Newark, NJ, to Edward A. and Mary E. Cahalan Nason. Anna, a dedicated homemaker, relocated to Florida in 2010 from Avenel, NJ, and was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Avenel, NJ.

Anna found joy in simple pleasures and had a particular fondness for watching Catholic Mass on EWTN TV and enjoying shows on BRIT BOX and ACORN TV streaming services. She had a passion for murder mysteries with a special fondness for Sherlock Holmes, Poirot and Miss Marple.  Her signature color was lavender and her favorite flower was a rose. Anna enjoyed wine tasting, knitting, and creating things with ceramics. She will be remembered by her family as a strong-willed individual with a good sense of humor, quick wit, and a loving and sassy spirit, Anna leaves behind a legacy of warmth and joy. She will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John T. Armstrong; son, Steven Armstrong, and daughter, Joan Armstrong. Anna leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Michael (Diane) Armstrong; daughters, Jane (John) Nazar and Janet (Will) Walker; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kelly, Christine and Robert; and eleven great grandchildren.

A private visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, FL. A graveside service will be held in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonial, NJ.
